Wedding date:When
planning for your big day its important that life doesn't grind to a hault. You
are about to make a major change in your life and its best that you have a running
start. Here are some things to consider when choosing your wedding date!
Is there enough time to planning the type of wedding you desire?
Sometimes
its difficult to co-ordinate the church, reception, photographer all into the
same day. Let alone your work timetable. The rule is the longer you leave it the
harder it gets to orchestrate.
If
you are thinking of a specific, popular location for your ceremony or reception,
make sure they are free before setting the date.
Are
the bridal party members are available
Have
close family members been consulted their schedules and availablity.
Will
your out-of-town guests will have time to make arrangements for traveling
If you
are planning a religious ceremony, check the times of the year or days of the
week when weddings may not be performed. Consider
the weather possibilities for the date of an outdoor wedding.
The season
can add to the cost as well. If you will be having an outdoor wedding, you may
need to fans, heaters or other wind and weather protection. Will
there be a major event in the area which may hinder booking guest accommodation.
Is
your honeymoon location in peaktime during that period?
Peak seasons
may increase the cost of your desired location, likewise off-season may get better
rates. Some
reception locations a large enough to do lunchtime casual receptions, or even
a cocktail party with just finger food. This way you could have the venue you
want even if they are already booked.
What
is the climate of the location at the time of year you are considering? Is outdoors
going to be ok in Winter? Will you be able to wear the long-sleeved dress of your
dreams in Summer ? There
are also "wedding seasons" this can also affect the charge for services
and the availability of locations. (booking more than a year in advance may be
necessary for some prime locations.) Do
you plan special wedding transport that weather can effect?
You
may find it hard to book a florist for Valentines Day. Christmas is very busy
for musicians. Wedding limos can be flat out during debutant season.
Don't
forget what flowers you just "have to have", will they be in season?
These
are just a few to consider, once again the earlier you start the easier it will
all be. |
