Wedding Reception:

The location of your reception will mostly be ruled by your ceremony location and where you want your photographs taken. How formal your reception is is normally determined by how formal your ceremony is.

When picking a location for your reception you should consider some of these things

Traveling time between ceremony and reception.

Size of location, a large area will hinder the intamacy of a small group as well as a smalll area will not allow for space to mingle.

Transport cost of guests to and from the location to their hotels

Price per Head / Quality, you will need balance this. Can you go for a meal before deciding

Do they have Food and Beverage packages

What will the cost be once the bar tab has run out (because you know it will)

What will you allow guest to have on the bar tab ( sometimes spirits are restricted to single nips)

Is a wedding brunch, lunch or cocktail party and option?

Is there a choice between Ala carte and Buffet?

Do they have a curfu?

Do they Decorate the room?

Can you be married, reception and guest stay all in one location?

Can your "party party" friends party all night?

Can you bring a caterer in and just hire the location?

If you BYO will the supplier provide a barperson?

Do you have to clean up the venue hired, or is that included in the cost?
