Makeup:
It probably isn't so much about hoosing your make up but more so choosing your
make up artist. You need to feel comfortable from the outset with your artist.
Their work will affect your whole wedding and thus this decision is not to be
taken lightly, your photographs will bring up every detail and you are the "canvas".
Ask
questions and see if the answers agree with your thoughts, more likely your artist
should be telling you things that inspire you as opposed to simply things you
already know. Like photographers that have samples to show you so should an artist,
after all their previous work is guaranted to have been photographed so !!!! lets
look at them. Its common to ask
for a trial day for your makeup, you won't have time on your day for mistakes.
Take a picture of your dress with you to visualise the end result. Take some images
you have found that you like with you as well, more importantly take some that
you dislike to get an idea of the boundaries. Less
is more generally. Makeup that is to heavy will only make you feel sticky on the
day. This is not a movie set and thus there is not the strong lights that make
you look white, the flash that a photographer uses is designed for soft "complimentary"
lighting. Everybody has different
features and this is where an artist works their magic, it is the skill to bring
out the best features and hide the bad that you pay for. If you have a ruling
colour in your wedding style this will be a must to tell your artist, especially
if coloured gems/ jewellery is concerned. Ask
your artist if they provide a small touch up kit with the price, you will need
to top up your lip stick during the day (all that kissing). A professional makeup
artist will of course use water proof mascara and water resistant products. Think
about the temperature of the day as well, if it is normally hot or your out in
the open for a while you will want to tell your artist this. If your out in the
open why not plan a beautiful parasol for the day.
Have your artist check out your skin type and perhaps trial
some different powders and foundations months before the day. A trial is good
but remember you will be wearing this make up for 12 hours at least, you should
test it for that long as well |
